ABOUT AIRWAVE DAVE! ... AIRWAVE DAVE!'s radio career started in 1968, when he was 14, working weekends in a college radio station in Winfield, Kansas. By early 1982, he was featured on KLSI-FM's [Kansas City] morning drive, Adult Contemporary, 4-person tag team as one of the "News Brothers". During his tenure in radio news, Dave won national and state news awards from Associated Press for Spot News Coverage. His last news stint in Texas was with KLBJ in Austin! Dave has also been an on-air personality on a number of radio stations from California to South Carolina, amassing years of experience in different music formats! His news stints also included a cable television news anchor position in Kansas City. AIRWAVE DAVE! has been performing as a mobile DJ and pianist since 1982, individually serving over 850 wedding clients, providing music for ceremonies and receptions. He is also a voice actor, doing over 80 different character impressions for voiceover talent. He makes those voices happen in his recording studio. AIRWAVE DAVE! has also performed for over 1,200 corporate clients at business functions, holiday parties and trade shows. AIRWAVE DAVE!'s background also includes three years of national touring as a keyboardist in a night club show band and lengthy DJ stints at Polly Esther's in San Antonio and Austin, as well as a club DJ in several other top-ranked venues. AIRWAVE DAVE! was also trained on piano for over seven years by New England conservatory pianist Ann Blake, who received her piano training from Karl Hummel, a piano student of acclaimed 18th-century Hungarian composer Franz Liszt. AIRWAVE DAVE! Mobile DJ is priced at $995.00 for up to a 4-hour minimum [from time of guest arrival until the last dance]. Extra hours are priced at $200.00 per hour!* *Deposit on all extra hours required at time of booking to receive advance discounts; additional set-up fees may apply for more difficult venue locations. Downtown venues that require valet or special parking requirements, add $50 surcharge. AIRWAVE DAVE! also has wireless microphones for singers (that you provide) and can either provide piano accompaniment or recorded music. ALL OF THIS IS INCLUDED IN THE CEREMONY PIANO PRICING or for your corporate event! The audio-visual projection system includes a 100-inch pop-up screen, 1800 lumens projector, podiums, table, laptop computer or DVD player ... completely self-contained, with AIRWAVE DAVE! operating it at showtime, for $250.00 when you book his 4-hour performance, same day. [Applies only to in-area functions at the same location as the reception. AIRWAVE DAVE! does not rent this gear out separately.] MILEAGE AND TRAVEL ... AIRWAVE DAVE! does not charge mileage within 100 miles of the Austin - San Antonio metroplex! AIRWAVE DAVE! charges a flat $150 extra plus overnight accommodations to go to Dallas and Houston; $100 extra to go to Corpus Christi or San Angelo. Anything further, it's 70 cents per mile [one way] over 100 miles past Dallas or Houston. Airwave Dave! will bring his performance gear to your location within 400 miles of Austin or San Antonio [Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex, Houston, Beaumont, San Angelo, Hill Country, Corpus Christi, Rio Grande Valley, Laredo and most of East Texas]. For El Paso performances, Airwave Dave! rents his gear locally from Rod Crosby at Crosby Sound & Lighting and brings his recorded CD music with! You are responsible for airfare and hotel, plus one overweight box both directions from Austin-Bergstrom International Airport. AIRWAVE DAVE! also contracts for functions out-of-state as well. Airfare, meals, per diem and lodging must be provided by client. You will have to rent equipment for the performance locally. EXTRAS ... AIRWAVE DAVE! can also provide party favors and prizes to give away (at client expense), like glow sticks, peace necklaces, mirrorball necklaces and logo-imprinted promotional items. Call for quotes.
